Strictly Local & Offline
CleanClip works fully offline. All clipboard processing, indexing, and storage happen locally on your Mac. We have no servers, no databases, and no analytics trackers connected to your clipboard.
📋Clipboard History Management
How to pause clipboard capture:
Click the CleanClip menu bar icon, open Settings > History, and toggle the switch labeled "Pause Clipboard History". While paused, CleanClip ignores all clipboard changes.
How to disable history entirely:
Open Settings > History, uncheck the "Enable Clipboard History" option. This disables local clipboard monitoring and database storage.
How to clear your history:
To clear all saved items, open Settings > History and click the button labeled "Clear History...". This permanently deletes all stored text clips from the database and FTS index.
⌨️App Actions & Shortcuts
How to reset keyboard shortcuts:
If you wish to restore the default global hotkeys, open the app Settings, click on the "Shortcuts" tab, and click the "Reset to Defaults" button at the bottom of the window.
How to quit CleanClip:
Click the CleanClip icon in the macOS menu bar, and click "Quit CleanClip" at the bottom of the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut configuration to assign a hotkey to terminate the process.
Database Location:
The clipboard history database is located in your system's Sandboxed container folder. You can find it under: `~/Library/Containers/com.adrienguert.cleanclip.CleanClip/Data/`
